Fine Craft
The East Valley Art Guild welcomes those artists that create
Fine Crafts. We are dedicated to promoting and helping all artists succeed in
their chosen creative areas.
The Guilds definition of Fine Crafts is as
follows:
-
Contemporary craft work that is cutting-edge and
ensures the highest standard of workmanship
-
Work that must not seek to reproduce or restore,
but rather must be
-
Innovative in its use of materials and aesthetic
vision
-
Work that not only reflects the signature of the
individual maker, but also demonstrates investigation of processes and
critical enquiry.
-
The East Valley Art Guild in an effort to provide the
highest quality Art Guild and events as possible has set standards that must
be adhered to. All art work exhibited must be original work, Absolutely no
imported, manufactured or mass-produced items, no kits or articles not made in
total by the artist are allowed, (including commercially printed matter),
including antiques, plants or imports. No commercial agents, dealers, or
manufacturers are eligible to enter. No embellished objects, or edible art may
be submitted.
The Guild feels so strongly that Fine Craft artisans
belong in our Guild, that we formed a specialized Fine Craft Committee to work
with those Guild members that create Fine Crafts. The committee is dedicated to
the success of our fine craft members and creating awareness of the Guilds
membership in the community.
Committee Goals:
-
Create opportunities for Fine Craft members to
promote their work
-
Review opportunities such as craft shows, craft
festivals, art shows, trunk shows, and a variety of other art and craft venues
for recommendation to members
-
Work with local merchants to place Fine Crafts in
retail environments
-
Work with local businesses, manufacturers, retail
outlets, and other organizations, such as malls, retail centers, and
governmental agencies to promote and create opportunities for Fine Craft
Members.
